What other Fuel Tanks have the same size and proportions that a 1972 gas tank has? I think the 1970 and 71 do, wonder if there others that are the same. Your help would be appreciated. Jim.

You've got it, 70-72 are the same, 73 is a fit but has a different shape. (including rear where it's wider than the earlier seats) all others are enough different that they will present some fitment issues.
