Well, with the help of Curlys' guide from 'the garage', I narrowed my electrical drain to the starter safety relay/circuit. Unplugging the yellow alt wire brought the volts up to spec and beyond what I'd ever had charging before, albeit just fractions of a volt but more none the less. Only problem was I lost my headlight and guage lights. Seems the yellow alt wire is crucial for having these lights, so.........with the help of inxss' direction, I bypassed the starter safety relay/circuit, plugged the alt wire back together and restored my lights, and I must say- this machine has never run as good in the 3 years that I've been tinkering with it. Watch out for voltage anemia!
With the help and improvement suggestions from many, I would like to express my thanks. ALL have brought me to this point.
Now, let me find an 883 at the stoplight.
