Anyone ever anodize their own aluminum?

Title says it all. If so what dyes did you use and how did you achieve the best results?

No. but i removed some by accident one time with some easyoff oven cleaner. I know they make some tranlucent powder coats that might do the trick.

i have, but technically it was a commericial setup. it is pretty simple for decorative stuff, but if you want millspec, have it done. i think cresswells has kits. i've heard that plain clothes dye works well, not sure how long it lasts, though.
