XS650 Junkie
I have a motor that is ready to be assembled. The head is honed, valves lapped and installed, gasket set purchased, all I need is to put the puzzle together. I could probably figure it all out but since there are some crucial techniques here, I'm wondering if anyone in the metro St. Louis area who has experience assembling XS engines would care to help me bolt it together. I'll pay you for your time or buy you a steak dinner or a case of beer or whatever. Reply or PM me. I'm in no huge hurry. This can even wait till this fall or winter when riding season has slowed down.
The original engine that's in my bike has 65,xxx miles on it. The head gasket is shot but still runs decent. I want to have my other motor assembled and ready to put as a winter project.
