Anyone know if I can swap my BS34's for a couple of Mik1's I got off an xs750? Seems like they should be an upgrade but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

Theoretically, you should be able to swap any carb for a similar expected flow one. So, yes.

However - why? The 34's are a good carb for the xs650, with a couple of slight modifications from stock.

What modifications?
I've heard it's a good idea to uncap the mix screws and rich them up a little.
Any others I should try? I'm experienced with working on carbs but new to owning an xs650.

XSJohn makes and sells improved jet needes for the BS34s that make a huge difference in their performance. The needles aren't expensive. I'd try a set of those before I swapped carbs.

Depending on your air filter an exhaust rejetting may be needed. Not a hard thing to do, can be done with carbs on the bike.
