carb and tank petcocks

Quick question. If I'm running carbs from a '77xs that originally had a two fuel lines from the tank (one going to each carb) is it going to get enough fuel if my new tank set up uses only one line to a tee splitting to each carb (this was how my '80 was setup)?

Basically I'm on a budget build and trying to save money by only using one petcock.

I never had a problem doing it that way on my '78 carbs with a sporty tank.

I usr just one petcock works just fine.

hom many mm should the petcock be? will 6mm be enough or is it beter to use 8mm?
i'll be using a single carb.
