Got new jets for carbs

unscrewed one float bowl cover
unscrewed main jet
Noticed the new one purchased
was wrong

Took old jet, re- inserted into washer then went to tighten it down
back inside the float bowl and it just spins..its not catching.

what am I doing wrong?

*pic shown is NOT my carb

It screws into the needle jet... emulsion tube.... whatever you want to call it. Did that get pushed in so the threads aren't catching?

I hope not
gonna go back and check again in The AM

No worries if that's it, just seat it back down and you're good. There's a slot and pin to line up though.

If the needle jet is seated properly, with the main jet and it's washer removed, this is what you should see. This is the bottom of the needle jet with the threads in it for the main .....
