Confused...help please!

Building my first hardtail ever and I am at a loss. I have the TC Bros forward controls and necessary linkage kit however, on the monstercraftsman site I noticed a "break pivot for forward control linkage kit" .... I have not started much of the build, just buying parts at the moment, will I need that pivot? I'm hesitant because it's a $60 buy. Thanks!

You can make up your own or you could buy theres. Pivot is for drum brakes and must be used. Here is a picture of a bike I did with TC BROTHERS controls and you can see pivot.
