Cutting the passenger supports off

Hi all. I'm new here. I've been having a blast tearing down my 75 XS650.

I'm trying to customize the frame a little bit and I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not cutting the passenger supports off of the frame would affect the stability or structure of the frame at all. I'll looking to lighten the thing up, put in a custom battery box and just make it look and be lighter.

Is there anything other than the rear light switch and the foot pegs that those pieces of the frame support?
