foot pegs

on my 78 650 special I want too replace the rubber it looks like the pin that holds the peg on is peened and would have to be drilled out? if so what can be used to replace it.I want to powder coat the metal part while it is apart. Thanks

If you drill it out, I would think a bolt with a locking thead nut (kind with the plastic on the edge of once side) or some sort of shaft and cotter pin setup

I had mine powdercoated without removing the spring mechanism. They work just fine. Just not as much "snap" back. Good thing I have gravity on my side.

I have to remove the pivot pin to get the rubber peg off just want to know if the pin is removed what to put in there to replace it

The rubber will come off without disassembly.
