Has anyone used Cognito moto

Are you sure this is the case? I believe he's still in business, but I don't know how successful it is or isn't. Griz, is right. If we don't support the quality vendors who support our hobby, we may not have them for long. Since I'm not familiar with Cognito Moto, I reserve comment on them.

I am going off the point he is still in business..........successful i guess it depends on an interpretation,my interpretation is, if some one is providing for their family through a business they started then that in itself is a success.........don't have to make millions to be successfull

You're both daft...griz and especially 650skull!

Griz, lets first review your post and finish this, then agree to let the OP have a fair review of who does what and offers what without your unwarranted slant:

First - Do you in fact have personal knowledge of where those filter elements are made? I'll bet you don't. Do you have any personal knowledge of the quality or durability of said product? I'll bet your making conjecture, and trying to make one vendor look tarnished in contrast to another to follow your preferences. In fact however there are quite a lot of manufacturers in the US making unbranded and multi-branded products today, to do just what they should - compete with off shore products. Not that it matters though, since the YAMAHA is a foreign product in origin. I have specific knowledge in that the business I work at does JUST EXACTLY THAT VERY THING - WE MAKE THE SAME PRODUCTS BOTH BRANDED AND NOT, PACKAGED IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS!!!

Next - A simple web page content glitch does not make a vendor inferior. If that were so, there are a couple of other XS650 specific vendors that would have gone out of business a long time ago. (Notice how I did that, referred to others failings without naming them specifically thereby avoiding possibly being an ass who is wrong! But still making my point!).

Third then - What relevance does the source of a carb mount have to do with anything...again YAMAHA is a foreign brand. Any allegations that off shore source products don't belong are in themselves patently ridiculous!

Onward again - You have no personal knowledge of Cognito, yet in your response to the OP's inquiry about that company specifically you allude to cut-rate vendors, after having referred to other specialty shops as a contrast. That is for certain implying that the original subject business is the description offered up, which was as a "cut-rate internet vendor".

I can tell that you're not a master of the vernacular, but you really need to think before you hit the keyboard!

650skull, now let's move on to your intelligent response:

You start out by stating that I had better be careful. Or what? You too have no personal knowledge, yet you feel it pertinent to chime in as though your uninformed position offers relevant context. But you did look at a web page for 2 minutes though right! Wow.

You really ought to re-read the dialog as an independent mind and understand the references made. Offering a cautionary statement and slandering a business are two different things! Especially when there is no personal knowledge of the accused to offer as background or reference. You didn't read griz's dialog as negative, however the reference to "cut-rate internet vendor" while discussing Cognito Moto specifically is exactly that.

I'll offer you the closing advice that I did griz!
Gentlemen, lets pull back and realize that statements made on the internet can make or break the horizon of a business - and businesses are PEOPLE. When that is done without any specific knowledge but only conjecture you can intimately damage people that are not worthy of such harm! When you open your mouth (re: keyboard) that is out there effectively permanently. When you do mouth off casually in a way that becomes permanently damaging to others, that is bad. Especially when you don't have any specific knowledge upon which to base those allegations!

If you want to warn someone, do so innocuously. When you want to suggest that there is a better way, simply highlight the benefits of others without disparaging those whom you do not prefer. Be good stewards of your community, good people of your word. This forum and so many others are becoming toxic due to the thoughtless comments of people without specific personal experience. Take your wisdom, add a bit of exaggeration and we have a situation that others can AND DO interpret as real first person experience.

You both can respond "politely" or not, really doesn't matter. You're both missing the point! Restrain your language to that which you know, not that which your smart *ss thinks you need to mouth off about! That is more valued by those asking for input.

Over and out,

John Blankenship

P.S. griz and 650 skull, if any of the words used in my response are too big for you, just google them.

If cogneto is yours, or your working for them then they really do have a problem................maybe you need to look up the word CONTEXT, thought i would highlight it because you seen to have selective eyesight.........your funny.........

I am going off the point he is still in business..........successful i guess it depends on an interpretation,my interpretation is, if some one is providing for their family through a business they started then that in itself is a success.........don't have to make millions to be successfull

Agreed.
