did some searching, cant find much discussion about the fender mounting.

Have a TC bros hardtail and mounting a 7 metal west fender, have the tc bros fender strut kit. any pics would help. i've got the basic idea, but looking for tips on making it look the best, or easier to install.

also, what are the opinions with that fender about cutting it shorter so the fender ends at around 12 o'clock? with the full piece laid out over the rear wheel look to end around 2 o'clock.

thanks

this will depend on how streached the hard tail is

if you look at this side pic of my bike and were the fender is on the tube that holds the springs for my seat I added two brackets and on the bottom part of the frame (where the battery sits) I added another bracket there to hold the the fender on the bottom

the fender I drilled two holes where it mounts just under my seat springs I then welded to nuts over the holes and did the same on the bottom mount and if you are using a non motorcycle fender like mine (or if the fender is wider or over laps on the sides) dont forget to cut out a section for the chain

just do some playing around and get creative with it its hard to tell you exactliy how to do it with the hard tails two are never alike each is a little different and will give you different problems HAHA but if it were easy we wouldn't want to build them

I'll get you better more detailed photos tonight but I hope this gives you some ideas

Something to think about with a short fender...

Mine ends right around 11:30-12oclock position if you were on the driverside of the bike.

Its not uncommon for me to have road grime up my back or on my bag... I don't mind it too much, but I think about making the fender longer sometimes...

HAHA me too and I dont run a front fender so the nasty water on the street sometimes spalters up on my face shield LOL hate that

So here's a question. Has anybody mounted a rear fender capable of supporting a person? Say I wanted to throw a B*tch pad on the fender and get the girl on back. Is it possible?

Figuring out the fender mounts was the toughest part of my build...hahaha no shit.

I used a 7 metal west and cut 4" off it, I used that cutoff to build a mounting bracket:

I made struts out of 1/2" and a few bungking bungs for the rear:

And for the lower mount, I made a bracket out of 1/2" and some more bungs. I couldn't find a decent pic, but you can sort of see it in the bottom right:

All in all I have 8 bolts holding on this piece of flimsy metal. WTF was I thinking
