The part where the tank bolts to the frame. I thought I would be real clever and make sure the bolt was good and tight.

The damn thing snapped right off. I guess the tank could just sit there, its not going anywhere with me on the seat.

Any thoughts?

Did it snap flush, or is there some bolt sticking up? Do you have a welder?

Bolt? What bolt?
Should be okay, the seat fits pretty tight to the tank and then there's friction and gravity. Been running mine 3 years without, though other opinions may vary.

hey i did the same thing three weeks ago! i went and got myself an extractor kit from sears and pulled it out no problem. after breaking a second bolt just this past week i decided one thing: when it feels tight, stop turning! :wink2:

I ran mine without the bolt for a while out of pure laziness. The seat wore the paint off of of the tank leaving bare metal. However, I spend more time on my bike than most, since it is my primary mode of transportation.
