Is this stock for front forks?

I bought a set of front forks on ebay from a 77. The PO did not know if the shocks top were stock or modified. I'm not familiar with XS's that have what looks like a air inflator at the top of the shock. There is a KYB sticker on the fork leg. Anyone have an idea?

It's either an aftermarket add-on or the forks are from some other model. I think some of the Viragos had air forks. Are they 35mm tubes? Got a pic of the complete fork, top to bottom? If you tear them down, the damper rod style may tell you. The '77 had a unique, one year only damper rod style.

Here are a couple more pics. They are like 35.05mm just a fraction wider compared to my other xs using a caliper.

They look like 650 forks. I'd say the air fitting was an aftermarket add-on kit or maybe just added by drilling and tapping the cap. The cap looks like an original '77 one. Those Magura clip-ons sure look cool.

Thanks for the info. I only wanted the clip-ons, but had to buy the whole setup. Still got it pretty cheap though, Magura clip-ons are getting harder to find.
