Where is my 100% mechanical magneto that just uses a magnet or two?
Nice but a lotta dough! Would look great on the right bike.
Think Boyer. We need that jewel which just uses PAMCO magnets to fire the double coil that runs off the battery. Independant rectifier/regulator charging to maintain the battery. Done' need no stinkeen' PMA. Please hurry.
Thinking bullet-proof. Don't want no stinkeen' PMA.Think Boyer.
Boyer is not a "stinkeen" PMA. You have no idea of what you are asking for.Thinking bullet-proof. Don't want no stinkeen' PMA.
Seems simple. Crank magneto fires the plugs with timing advance provided by the cam with PAMCO and stock advance weights. Stock alternator maintains the battery. We don't need no stinkeen' coils. Gimme!Boyer is not a "stinkeen" PMA. You have no idea of what you are asking for.
Never seen that; how does the camshaft provide mechanical advance to something riding off the crank? And...PAMCO (no longer sold) are basically the same type design as Boyer-Bransden that work similarly (neither is magneto)Crank magneto fires the plugs with timing advance provided by the cam
I would use a steel ball in a properly designed vertical spinning cone that controls advance by centrifugal force. The entire cam advance and associated ignition parts could be eliminated. A clever person could probably incorporate a motor-generator that serves as a starter.Never seen that; how does the camshaft provide mechanical advance to something riding off the crank? Let me see if I've got this right, you're going to maintain a battery & charging system so you can use a Pamco unit to trigger the output of a lump, bolted on the side of the engine(that looks like it came off a 1930s farm tractor) so said lump can fire the spark plugs in place of a coil mounted under the tank. Ok, I think I got it.Seems simple. Crank magneto fires the plugs with timing advance provided by the cam with PAMCO and stock advance weights. Stock alternator maintains the battery. Close but no cigar. We don't lump. We already have brushes on the alternator and the right side of the crank is just asking for something to spin.Let me see if I've got this right, you're going to maintain a battery & charging system so you can use a Pamco unit to trigger the output of a lump, bolted on the side of the engine(that looks like it came off a 1930s farm tractor) so said lump can fire the spark plugs in place of a coil mounted under the tank.
