anyone have an opinion on mikes replacement front master cylinder/brake options. the sloped looks like a nice option for clubmans. or should i just rebuild the original (83).
also need to rebuild the caliper.

if you can rebuild the original, do it. A rebuilt original part is better than mikes parts any day.
Rebiulding the caliper is easy, too.

Nine times out of ten, a "rebuild" just entails a thorough cleaning of the original parts. Do that first before buying any rebuild kits or parts. If it won't hold fluid, then spring for the rebuild kit.

I did one last fall for a guy that was the worst I've ever had apart. It was pretty much packed full of crud. I couldn't believe it worked at all. Well, it got to the point it wasn't working right. The brake was dragging so bad you could barely push the bike around. A thorough cleaning with no new parts and it's pretty much as good as new.

sounds good. just did the same to my zrx. cleaning did the trick. hopefully that works for the xs. if parts are needed, how are mikes kits?
