I was reading an article or two and looking at other resources on the web regarding adding some rake to the neck. 36 degrees seems to be around the most popular.

My hardtailed frame came to me as a roller with an 18 rear and 19 front and seemed to have a ride height of about 5 inches. I am going to go with a 16 rear and 19 front.

So I suppose my question is if I rake the neck out to 36 degrees will I still be able to use my stock length fork tubes or will I have to go with 2 over tubes?

Thanks all. Ian.

As a new guy with no experience in this but in the middle of doing a 35ish deg rake my self. (work on that more in the morning)
I believe I'v read that will lower my front end 2" with stock fork tubes. If that helps
If ur bikes already lowered u may have some fix'n to do. or better yet get a 21" front rim. If I could afford another set of rims thats what I'd do :)
