Why is my 71 xs1-b low on power from idle to 3,500 rpm? Stock everything. BS38 carbs cleaned as well as I can get it.130 main jet, and 145 pilot jet. I think I will try a 147.5 pilot jet as soon as I get out of this cast. The mufflers are not stock, but they aren't straight through pipes.

Along with that, carbs should be synched.

If it’s a new to you bike, maybe it’s got the wrong sprocket…

If it’s been yours for a while, did it run well before?

Thanks for the info. I should probably go through the whole ignition system. The advance mechanism was froze up when I got the bike so it may not be exactly right yet.

I can't say about the sprocket. I should count the teeth. I'm making progress on how it runs. I'm just not there yet. It runs better now than it has since I've owned it. When it hits 3500 rpm, it takes of like a rocket.
