Just finished a set of tins for xs member apsracing. Just wanna say thanks for being the first to do the "paint by mail" thing.

Thanks nate what kind of paint are you shooting?

I usually am shooting the Kustom Shop Urethane base and 2K clear from TCP Global or HOK for the weird stuff. I have been using PPG Shopline for catylized primers.

This is my last build... All HOK.

Here's a Vulcan 900 I did a couple of years ago in all Kustom Shop.

Nate how do you like that kustom shop clear? I've been thinking bout switching but I'm pretty happy with nason s clear I don't wanna let it go haha.
Are you using the speed or ultra flow??

Ive been using the Ultra Flow... I like it better, I tried the speed but didn't have quite as good buffing results.

Ultraflow buffs nice... Very similar in behavior as the HOK stuff... which buffs like a dream.

My first time using their stuff was the Speed and it did well, but I was at the buffing wheel a lot longer.

I painted a car with Nason urethane once years ago... was cheap! results were better than I expected. Don't know how it held up.

I don't think you'd be disappointed in the Custom Shop (looks like they've dropped the "K" spelling) from TCPGlobal (Valspar makes it)... And the price is nice.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the great work. I am hopin got get these on in the next week or so and than get the next set out to you. FANTASTIC JOB

Your painting is awesome!!

I'm thinking of sending you my tank, XS750 for a 650, a Virago front fender and my seat as below. The primed tank indent needs work as you can see. I'm thinking of a dark red or burgundy with pin striping in the Yamaha gold color on all 3 parts. For the tank indents it would be nice to have an affect that makes them look REAL DEEP and XS650 in curved calligraphy with striping completely around the indent kind of like your black tank below.

Anyway I'm dreaming now and the main reason for writing is what you recommend for shipping the stuff to you. What works and what doesn't from what you've seen so far. I live in North Carolina. What would be the ballpark price?

Maybe 450 or so depending on the detail your looking for. Your tank will have to be taken all the way down to do the body work

I have a lot of stuff from my build...not sure if its anything you need.

81 special tank

original shocks

front and rear fender.

This exhaust from mikesxs http://www.mikesxs.net/product/07-0753.html
They have about 200 miles on them.

Swing arm, and 520 chain for stock length.

AGM standard battery

Stock rear brake light.

I doubt you will use any of it for paint...but it is the last thing I need done for my build

Possibly the pipes but I'd hate to chop em. How many pieces are you looking to have painted? Do you have any ideas for a pattern?

Something similar to the ones you did for apsracing. But White and Blue instead of Red and gold.

Just the fender and tank are what I'm looking for.

I have a short fender as well so the majority of it can be black faded to the pattern.

If you are willing to do it I would be flexible on the pattern. Below is my bike currently, as well as some patterns I was looking to base my design off of.

I'll give you a heads up. The pipes although with limited miles on them are a discolored on the right pipe. I was going to keep them and wrap them when i was still going for a cafe style bike, but I ended up switching to high pipes for my chopper.
