All, I am selling multiple parts off my 1978 XS650 Special. All prices are + shipping (please provide me with your zip so I can get a quote). All prices are also OBO. I haven't sold anything here yet so I don't have any feedback on the forum. However I have a 100% eBay rating (spoon_13). Local pickups are welcome and I'm located in Chicago. I will try my best to describe the parts as accurately as possible. Pictures will be coming soon. If my prices do not seem reasonable please tell me or post up with your offer. I am willing to negotiate espcially if you are interested in multiple parts. I think I'm pretty reasonable.
A. Side covers painted Chemeleon by PO (color change paint Blue/Purple/Bronze) with gold "Special" badge SOLD
B. Black powdercoated drag bar scratches where mounting clamps attach and under grip area - SOLD
C. Stock chrome bars some rust in spots $25
D. Chrome sissy bar $25
E. Deluxe seat decent condition. 1 mounting bolt broken in "seat pan" and bottom a bit rusty $50
F. Components for points ignition. I don't know what parts these are as the PO replaced with a Pamco ignition and I don't know the condition $45
G. Headlight mounts one looks to be slightly bent $25
H. Yamaha "fork guard" Back side a bit rusty $20
I. Signals scratches on a couple of them and wiring looks very old but they work. Set of 4 $30
J. Throttle tube SOLD
K. Right side mirror square $15
L. L/R handle bar switches. Work when I took them off. Hi/Lo headlight switch is broken off. RIGHT SIDE SOLD, Left $15
M. Chrome chain guard spots of rust on chrome $30
N. Front Fender 2 small dings and some rust spots $25
O. Rear fender rust spots and the area that is under the passenger seat is dull $25
P. Lower rear fender $20
Q. RK chain with clip style master. Looks to be a 530 chain with unknown mileage but worked fine $40
R. Clutch perch and lever $15
S. Front brake assembly (Rotor, Caliper, Pads, Lines, Master, Lever) Scratches on the lever end probably from a tip over, rotor looks good, caliper has some very minor scratches, pads look good, lines look good, master cylinder probably needs a rebuild (better safe than sorry) and the paint is coming off $125
T. Passenger pegs work, but are loose and very rusty $15
U. Driver pegs good condition $25
V. Rear Rotor looks straight works good $45
W. Reflectors (2 red, 2 amber) $10
X. Taillight works good $30
Y. Battery box has some rust on it $30
Z. Stock Battery (Local pick up only) Was able to turn the motor over fine. I have it off the XS and on a trickle charger $25
1. New Throttle cable for low handle bars (stock carbs) SOLD
2. Airbox and filters. Airbox looks to be in good condition, the rubber joint between the L/R side would need to be replaced. Filters look like they don't have much mileage on them SOLD
3. Kick start lever good condition $30
4. I assume these are the stock carbs (Mikuni) PO said he cleaned them last year. SOLD
5. Speedometer w/ odometer reading 18,544 miles. Chrome housing has some rust spots. SOLD
6. Tachometer before it was removed it would get stuck at 3k RPM and fluctuate between idling RPM and 1.5-2k RPM when cruising. It would go up to 5k every once in a while. Don't know if there is something wrong with the tach or if it was the tach cable or sensor. Some rust on the chrome housing SOLD
7. Center "console" between Speedo and Tach all 3 lights work SOLD
8. Speedo bracket good condition SOLD
9. 2-2 exhaust. Don't know if this is stock or aftermarket, my guess is aftermarket. PO painted the main header tubes black. Chrome mufflers have some rust on them and the left side muffle is a little dinged up near the tip. Looks to have removeable baffles. $100
10. FT/RR "Challenger" tires with unknown mileage, but look fairly new. Front is a 100/90-19 and the rear is a 130/90-16 $40 each or $75 for the pair
11. Rear shocks. Don't look to be the original shocks, good condition - These look like the Monza shocks $60 for the pair
12. Rear disc brake from an SR500 (Year unknown) $40
13. Rear Sprocket from SR500 wheel (Year unknown) $15
