Seat identification

Hey guys, found this site while trying to figure out what this seat fits. I have an XS1100 but this came off a much smaller bike that came with the house we bought a few years ago. Problem is, I gave the bike away (stupid stupid stupid) and don't remember what it was other than a Yamaha 600/650. Can someone tell me what it is and if there is a need for the seat pan? It's plastic, not metal like the 1100 that seems to be in great demand.

I'm going to say 81 or 82 XJ650 (Maxim). If I'm right, it isn't worth much of anything.. maybe $10

I'm thinking its a '79 and later seat. Looks a lot like the seat on my '80

azman857, are you thinking the seat is from and XS650 or XJ650?

The seats from the later year XS650's and the seats from the XJ650 look a lot alike. If you look at the bottom edge of the seat at the "point" that sticks down, on the XJ it is further forward than on the XS650. That's why I think it's an XJ seat.
