Started a 73 xs650 build about a month ago and I must admit I'm having a blast. I had a new 79 650 fresh out of high school and I always regretted letting that go for next to nothing to my cousin (cousin is still around but the bike is long gone). I'll throw some pics up in a few days but I was curious about brakes on the front. It has a disc brake but I'd like to find a SMALL front drum brake. I thought I'd lucked out with a front wheel and drum brake from a old Yamaha 250 dirt bike but the shaft size is too small. So I'd like to find something small like that so I can lace it into a wheel. I thought about running no brake on front but I don't know if I'm brave enough. Any help would be appreciated and thanks to the moderators for putting up this great forum.
