Hi guys!

Im currently building an XS500 cafe bike, but i scored a preatty nice 81 xs650 front end, it fits the xs500 frame just fine, but it came without a top crown, i know they are 35mm forks, would the special xs650 top crown fit the standard xs650 tree from the same year? What other tree crowns would fit a 81 xs650 top end?

Thanks!

I am pretty sure as long as they're 35mm, they will fit universally standard or special... However, i can't confirm 100%.

Hi Jramos,
any 35mm fork tube XS650 top 'tree will fit.
Unlike the XS750/850/1100 Standards, which have different fork designs than the XS750/850/11 Specials all XS650 fork 'trees are identical except for the 34mm to 35mm fork tube diameter change.

yea any 35mm crown, (77-84), will fit.

77-79 Standard crown is slightly different to the 78-84 Special crown. The 78-84 Special crown has mounting points for the ignition switch, Standard crowns don't have that because the ignition is in the gauge cluster.

Any Gauge cluster bracket from 76, (34mm forks), -84 will interchange on the 77-84, (35mm forks), Standard and Special crowns.
