WOLFHAWK
XS650 Addict
Picked up this abandoned 81 XS project yesterday from a guy in Brooklyn
Threw it in the back of my Wrangler and pieced it together as was today when I got home from class to get an idea of where I wanna go with it.
Box of parts, a ball of wires, and a service manual.
Now I just need to learn how to read...
A cut Triumph hardtail section he was planning on widening to make fit...
How she looks 2 hours after I took it out of the Jeep, mocked it together, then stripped it down.
I'm told....the front end is from a CB650 and the wheel is from a 72 XL250
The steering stem is about an inch and a half too short to run on the XS neck.
It's mocked up with no bearings and the top steering nut catching only 2 threads.
I have a stock front end inbound just in case I can't McGuyver my way about it.
The tank is crusty and abused but it'll suffice to get her fired up (with ample inline filters) and rolling and if I like her enough to keep I'll replace with another tank.
It came with a rear disc setup which I'll slap on my other bike as that was a rear disc frame and this is a rear drum frame.
I'll then swap the rear wheel to this new project.
If anyone needs a swingarm for a rear drum setup I'll hold onto it/ship it to you for a small fee.
Most of what I need is there minus a few odds and ends.
Hoping to have her rolling within a month from today March 12th, 2016 (noted for my own personal goldfish memory)
