Hi!
I have recently converted my 1979 xs650 to kickstart only and have removed the safety relay and starter solenoid, although I am still running the stock wiring harness. My question is, where do I hook up the positive battery cable? Thanks

What do you mean? I am just wondering where I am supposed to hook up the battery cable? This is a pretty common modification.

There was a thinner wire or two that hooked up to the solenoid along with the fat wire, find those and hook them up to the pos terminal of the battery.

Hello.

I´m doing the same right now and wondering what happens if you DON`T hook up the thinner wires with the "fat" one on the pos terminal. Right now everything is pitch black on my ride

Totally lost on everything that has to do with electricity by the way:banghead:

the 8g wire that goes from the (+) only goes to the solenoid if you have e-start. If you dont connect it, the starter won't work. If you ONLY connect the other R/W wires to the battery everything else "should" work, just kick only.
