Why use gas tank liner ?

I'v been looking into tank fabing not from scratch but things like making a tank smaller, changing the filler bung, moving the petcock, etc.

I always see other ppl using tank liner like kreem or what ever brand.
Stock tanks dont seem to have any such liner, so why would u need to do this if u did the job right and theres no leaks ? :shrug:

You dont need to use the Kreem products, unless there are leaks, or the interior of the tank has corrosion problems. Bad seams and pinholes can be sealed by the product. A tank that has been kept full with good fuel and minimal water will usually be fine without liner. If You do use Kreem or a similar product, READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! It is a time-consuming and messy process. Dont do it in the Kitchen.......
