It depends on the bore size. Your 78 has a 14 mm bore size. It's a bit large but works. A 10 or 11 mm bore will work better.

My apologies for lack of knowledge.. No idea what bore size is. I see a lot of rebuild kits but nothing with original specs on this info. I see a few articles list it as having a 5/8 piston..??
Is there something I can mic?
Generally they are marked on the side, by the mount, next to the bar. My 75 it said 5/8. This is an SAE number but equals 16 mm.
Yours may be marked either way or not at all.
You can take it apart and measure the actual bore size.
