    weird coincidence or a sign?

    parked my bike after a short ride the other night. Both the headlight and tail light were blown the next morning and I know they were working the night before. Anybody have any ideas? I have been fighting an unbalanced charging system since my PMA swap and am wondering what could cause a surge.

    13.2 volts at idle and 14.2 underway

    are these exceptable numbers for my PMA set up? I have a added a voltmeter to monitor the voltage for spikes or jumps while riding. I've also added a 15 amp fuse on the positive coming from the regulator to battery. This will be the third battery I've had to purchase.

    2 regulators and three batteries later...

    new banshee charging system. New wiring. what would be causing regulators and batteries to get fried? the wiring in the stator gone bad? I'm clueless at this point. I'm obviously overcharging right? The last regulator was a mosfet one.

    18 post and 6 post stator difference?

    piecing together my PMA swap and I got a 6 post stator and I am noticing that all the PMA swap kits use a 18 post stator. Whats the difference? Did I get the wrong banshee stator?

    Banshee flywheel lightening....good idea or bad?

    Just curious if the engine responds well. I know people do it on the banshee's but a two stroke engine is a completely different animal. On a track setting I can see acceleration out of corners being good but what about an everyday street ride?

    Getting ready to do the PMA swap and was wondering if I will be able to use my 7 wire reg/rec since I just bought it. All the write ups I see have the 5 wire and was wondering what the differences are between the 5 and 7 wire are?

    Rear Disc only suicide machine

    I know I know I'm an idiot. With fresh pads I can lock the rear up no problem. I was wondering if there is an adjustment or trick for the disc brakes to get a little better stopping power. The pads on it are barely worn and I'm full of fluid but I can't get it to lock up right now am not sure why.

    got 12+ volts on the battery and won't start with electric or kick

    battery is charged and it barely turns the starter. Kick isn't working either. It's an older AGM battery that holds a charge but I'm thinking the CCA's are way down and it's time for a new one. Is there any test I can do to check the CCA's?

    after I got rained on the other night....

    after getting stuck in the rain the other night my bikes battery wouldn't turn the starter over and the headlight was dim. It would kick over first try though and I was able to run around town for a while. is it possible that i ruined my regulator/rectifier since it's exposed? Or did my charging...

    What oil do you use and why?

    Now that it's getting hot again I was wondering what everybody out there in XS Land uses during the summer months. I have about 75 miles on a fresh top end using rotella 15w40 and I'm thinking I want to switch to something heavier for the heat and to maybe quiet down the top end a little. thanks!

    fresh rebuild, first start, advance mech destroyed?

    as the title says. fresh rebuild first start. was sounding good and then it stopped. after some inspection I noticed this. The pin was in there and now it's nowhere to be found. Any ideas on what might cause this?

    Time for a piston replacement?

    Pistons have some carbon build up and some skirt scuffing nothing deep or that bad and my cylinders are good so I don't need a bore. Can I just chem dip these, clean them up and reuse them. Bike has around 10,000 miles on it. New STD size pistons are kinda expensive...more than oversize it...

    So I've had my bike running for a few years but it has always had trouble doing more than 60mph. I just tore into the top end because I was ruining plugs on the left side really bad so I thought my rings were shot. that side was oily and the rings might be bad but the cylinder walls seem fine...

    More speed

    my bike seems like its going to explode at 60 mph. I have vm34's from 650central and stock gearing and mack 2into1 open exhaust. pamco installed too. all of the other xs's ive ridin with have no problem cruising at 80. What gives?     changed fuel lines and now it won't run in Clearwater/Tampa area

    So my fuel lines were starting to crack so I replaced them. Bike won't run off the choke on the right side and dies immediately. It also didn't feel like the left side was firing. I bought a new coil, cleaned both carbs. checked for air leaks and it still won't idle right. What am I missing...
