So, the trigger plate got mangled when the magnet rotor/plate came off the advance rod. Good news is the rest of the bike is tip top, bad news is the 277º trigger plate was a Mikesxs (hidden pamco pete) plate and well.. yeah since no one has them I'm feeling blocked.
Anyone know if I can I sub...
Hi,
My trigger plate got a bit smashed by the magnet rotor and cover. Have a 83' w/ 277º rephase. I realized this was my problem the week pete closed shop.
Thanks

Hey guys,
Im having a issue w/ burning up coils. I have a PMA installed, and initially I had a set of mikes green monsters. They fried. I wasn't fully sure what the cause was. First thought was water damage as the coils are up front I have no front fender and a few rides in the rain. I checked...
Hey guys,
Want to replace my coils.. Rewired everything so I figure I may as well get new coils in the bike too. Thinking about using the Mikesxs coils not sure if I can get something better for a little more/less $$
Thanks
Time to clean up the rats nest of wiring.. I'm running with a headlight tail light and horn. no blinkers or tag light. I also don't use my electric starter. Any one running a ballistic type battery or something similar?

Considering getting rid of the choke lever on the bars and just running a plunger.
Have my stock carbs, will I need anything other then THIS plunger from mikes? Dust cover, or a knob or something to attach to it?
thanks guys
Luke~
Does anyone know the max tire width I can fit onto the front? I thought I read on here that a 130 is about the widest you can go? I just want to make sure I can fit the same tire I'm running on the back on the front too. I do Believe that THIS will fit as its a MT90/16 but want to make sure...
Hey guys, looking for a Front hub 36 spoke and will be able to accept my rotor. Going into a 83 heritage special. Planning on running a 16" in the front and need a rotor to match a mikes rim. If you're close to Philly I can pick it up if not shipping to 19148.
Thanks!
So I need to replace my 64 Spoke front hub with a 36 spoke hub.. Looking on ebay for replacements..any years that do or dont work? Will I be able to keep my brake rotor or will that have to be replaced too.. Havent started this yet just looking to get everything lined up before I start pulling...
Hey guys,
Yesterday I put my carbs back on after rejetting.. get everything hooked up and ready to go and Splash, Im leaking gas from the left engine case. Its a oil, gas mix. I pull off my left side cover and fuel and oil are leaking out from under the rotor. I pull my oil plug and I've...
Time to re-jet.. I've pulled my air box as well as put on shorty exhausts cut down my headers and heat wrapped them. I've read the carb guides a few times and Im still not 100% sure how much I need to go up on my jets. Im also baffled as to one of the jets in my carbs. Sorry if this has been...
I'm about to do my wheels on my bike (83' heritage special) Starting with the back wheel 1st as its a mess. Needs to be trued and balanced.
I like the look of the black rims & hub.

Hey Guys,

Have a few stock parts from my build that are available. PM if interested make me a reasonable offer and they can be your's. Also have the stock bullhorn bars if anyone is interested in those (I can't image why anyone would want them but, pay for shipping and you can have them for free)...
So about a month ago my rotor went bad. Replaced it with a custom rewind job.. Whilel I had the engine cover off I got antsy and swapped out my front brake MC, levers as well as my clutch perch. Im using controls off a 08-09 kawasaki ninja 250 (not sure if that info is pertinent) I painted my...
As with most thing on my 83 Xs650 im not sure what I'm doing.. Thanks to this forum I'm quickly learning a lot.. and as my bike arrives piece by piece from the mail man its getting assembled and starting to take shape. Yesterday my new tail light arrived and Im not exactly sure how to wire it...
Installed a smaller front master cylinder, everything seems correct (cables connected tightly no fluid leaking from the connections. topped off the new MC with fluid with the bike level, closed the MC top. Attached the bleeder to the nipple and pumped the lever, air bubbles came out. Eventually...
So, my 83 650 seems to be having some battery issues or recharging issues or something along those lines. Bought the bike in march PO told me he had put in a new battery as well as new tires.
The problem: Bike starts and runs (I typically kick start it because my electric start only seems to...
So, got new bars, ditched the bullhorns. Picked up a smaller master brake cylinder and in the process of cleaning up the cable lengths.
got a pair of scott grips similar to THESE for free and attempted to fit one on over my stock throttle sleeve. The sleeve is obviously noticeable both by...
So Im getting around to doing a good ultrasonic cleaning on my carbs (83 XS650). While I'm doing a full carb rebuild I figured now would be a good time to pull my air box. Im thinking of either doing some cones/pods or possibly velocity stacks. I dont know much about velocity stacks except that...
