Recently inherited a project from a buddy and am having trouble ID'ing the bike. The VIN is as follows 3J2-XXXXXX. All of the "X's" are numerals, the J is the only letter that appears. I haven't had any luck combing the interweb yet - any guidance and/or heckling is welcome...

Looks like my son & I are building a street tracker with this bike as a start. I am more familiar with the earlier standard/roadster models. Was the 81 Heritage Special the only special that had the spokes front and rear and offered the rear drum? Is this setup rare? thanks. Joe
