Where the cylinder is stamped 653cc, this is stamped 743cc. The displacement is always on the LH cylinder front, bottom. I have never seen it anywhere else.
The bike looks just like any other XS2. Same color, carbs, mufflers, etc. One big difference occurs when you open the throttle........very noticeable difference. Let's see if I can post a pic. I got the beginning and ending vin numbers from Yamaha-USA. The only reason they still had them on their rolls was because they were sold without warranty. Once the warranty card is sent in the bikes are dropped from inventory because the customer has possesion. I bought this bike from the original owner. I had the original title copied and notorized as a true copy. At the moment the bike has 1350 original miles. It still rides on the original rubber. I put an oring chain on it, but I still have the original. In other words, this bike is an unrestored original GS vin XS2. It even came with the owners manual and tool kit.
