Pamco rotor alignment - what am I missing?

I purchased an Pamco ignition kit for a 277 re-phase (purchased from MikesXS); the crank and cam were done by HHB. I've searched various threads on this site, checked the install instructions on Yamahaxs650.com as well as the tutorial done by Hugh. I'm still having difficulty in troubleshooting a particular issue - the rotor magnets don't seem to be aligned horizontally as indicated in the installation instructions.

I verified that my cam was properly installed/aligned, made sure that the crank is at TDC on compression stroke for number one cylinder, lined up the Advance pin at 12:00, etc., but the rotor magnets still aren't horizontal. I appreciate any assistance anyone can offer.

Could be a problem with the rotor for 277's. Send me your address and I will send you a new rotor.

Pete, his ATU looks to be about 15° advanced, same as the Pamco rotor.
