Dug these up....Headlight ears and bucket to match by chance Jim?
You look like one Breaking Badass! Seriously though, I was gonna paint the fenders on "The Basketcase" by sand blasting them down to the bone, and building up the coats from there. And some truck bed liner for the insides...Take every precaution.
Now... on to figuring out how to properly paint chrome.
So... Pete's tank went off the rails pretty quick. Turns out the bottom is rotten. You can poke an awl right through it.

Kinda sucks I put the time into the other one, but that's on me. I shoulda checked the known weak areas first. Oh well.... hakuna matata
Used a razor and lacquer thinner to remove the stripes and bondo'd all the dings.

Had me a similarly rotten Royal Enfield tank and back in the pre-internet 1980s, no hope of finding another one.
... maybe even mod it into a wannbe speed twin tank... but that's way in the future.
