New Last Build Thread "maybe"

Polished the chain guard and fit the megaphones for a visual. Their OK I guess.

Built a couple of stand off`s to use rubber isolator`s to mount the megaphones. As much as I`d like to change my mind about the exhaust I`m going to live with it. (For Now anyway?). A new Morris Magneto is now $1395.00:yikes: and a new Earl`s oil cooler is $195.00. Looks like the First Tracker is about to loose some parts. That`s OK though because it needs another make over. Brake cable has to be a 7mm 62" outer shroud and 66 1/4" 2mm inner cable. Motion-Pro cable shroud is $46.00 for a 50 foot roll. $22.00 for the inner cable and who knows how much for ferrules and cable ends. Probably a couple hundred for clutch, brake and throttle cables.

Thanks. Glad somebody likes it. I didn`t use any RTV because it`s a no baffle open megaphone with no back pressure. The red mark you see by the clamp is just a red Sharpe mark to align the pipe and megaphone.

I started out the day with the best intentions of redesigning the seat/tail section but wound up making a template for the super sleek, highly aerodynamic, ultra functional run of the mill electronics tray. Tomorrow I`ll transfer it to some .063 aluminum and bend it up.

Made a mount for the rear master cylinder and drew out a pattern, cut it out on the band saw and bent up a mount for the oil cooler. Now I`ve got the rest of the evening to decide whether I like it or not and change my mind.:shootme:

It needs more holes...:)

Today I bought a donor parts bike. New (2 weeks old) Mikuni VM34`s from TC Brothers and a Hughs HB CDI ignition kit compatible with a Lithium Ion battery. Don`t ask me how but this thing started easily and runs. I`ll rob the carbs and CDI to use on my 1st tracker when I remove the Morris Magneto and the Gary Hoos carbs. Along with the stock parts were these carb needle & jet kits. I don`t think their for the VM series carbs. Must be for stock ones. It was a Heritage with buckhorn bars so I didn`t bother to take a pic of the whole bike.

Made the bracket for the brake cable and did the final cut to length (66 1/2") and it works just great. Made up the oil cooler lines. Everything I did today turned out just fine. What`s up with that?? Tomorrow front tank mounts (might go with 2 smaller tanks) and lifting spool brackets. I`d like to get all the brackets and parts done by the weekend and ready for the final welding. The tail section in a real SOB so it`s on the back burner for now.

I haven`t touched the LSR build in over a week. Went in the garage today and cut out the seat/tail section. Welded on a couple of mounting tabs and cleco`d it on, stood back, looked at it and promptly threw it and the pattern in the trash can where they belong. Too busy, too square, too sharp edged, to something.:umm: Anyway I just didn`t like it.

Do other LSR bikes locate the oil cooler in line with debris coming of a front tire at high speed?
