    Anybody see this tracker?

This guy has some great designs on a 650 and a "grasser Honda" that's killer. http://phillittleracing.com/motorcycle/x650-storm-conversion

    Dammit!

Yesterday, I changed the pads in My swamp cooler (evaporative air conditioner) to those blue-green type, thinking they might work better than the old cedar shaving type. Swapped it out, oiled the bearings, put a capful of bleach in the water, and turned it back on. It ran all day yesterday, and...

    new to the vintage tracker

Good afternoon, I am finding myself becoming quickly addicted to the XS650 street tracker. I currently am loving my dual sport 400, but have been seeing these pictures of these bikes and just can't shake the feeling that I need to build one. My question is what year should I be looking for to...

    My Street Tracker project

Son and I went up and back to Marshfield Wi Saturday to bring this home. 1979 It is in decent shape and once I'm happy with the mechanical /safety end of it my son will learn to ride a motor cycle from it. If it gets a scrape here and there it won't drive me bonkers like it would if he...

Gas tank on an 08 Night Rod.

I sat on this beast at a local bike shop the other day and it was comfortable and whatnot. After a bit I noticed that there was no visible way to gas that thing. I didn't see a filler cap anywhere. Am I just dull, or just an idiot? I don't know. Please, someone, tell me where it is on that bike...

    ?? Building a tracker?

I've been debating doing this for close to 10 years now. I am at least looking into it and have some ??'s. Will Omars glass work on a Special frame with the 16 inch rear mag, or do you have to start with the standard frame? Maybe there isn't a difference in the frames? How loud are Omars half...

Adding fiberglass to an existing gas tank.

So I have an odd idea. I want my gas tank to be longer and similar to the Norton Manx but don't think I have the ability to build one or alter my existing one with aluminum so my plan is this: Take and shape foam around an existing tank to get the shape I want and the fiberglass over the whole...

Anyone remove a rear brake drum from the hub?

Just thinking out loud but I wonder how hard it would be to get the iron band out of the hub? Thinking about a disk conversion on a drum rear spoke hub.

    79 Tracker finished

I finally finished My 79, except for tires-I will be spooning on some Dunlop K-81"s, soon as the eagle shits.

    Longer (than 13") shocks?

I bought a terribly chopped XS and have been trying to restore it back into a respectable ride (this has been my inspiration). Turns out in my fit of fabrication I've made the rear loop on the frame either a couple inches too short or a couple inches too low. It looks nice, and I've already...

    Gary's junkyard tracker build up.

Some may recall I "found" a chro/moly tracker frame last fall. Weighs 17 pounds compared to a stock frame's 49 pounds but it is "a work in progress" I got a mock up engine stuck together to see what this is going to take.... this is going to stretch my talents and then some. Just about...

    Outer clutch drum NOT tight???

Hello. First.....this is a complicated thread because of all the names of all parts in and around the clutch but I´ll try my best:thumbsup: With the whole clutch assembly mounted as it should be I´m able to wiggle the outer drum/ primary drive a little bit. It doesn´t sit tight on the...

Outer clutch drum. Difference in years and broken cush springs.

Hi there. I´m about to make a switch to a long, one piece clutch push rod. Since I´m so curious I disassembled the clutch drum.......and that turned out to be a good move. I found two broken cush springs! How come these springs are broken?? Is it due to age or something else? Anyway, I...

Tube or tube-less on cast wheels?

Hi there. I got myself a cast 19" front rim for my tracker as a rear rim on ebay just now. Now I need a new on/offroad tyre and wondering if I should go with tube or tube-less. Every now and then you´ll hear about cast rims leaking due to pore.......any ideas?? Thanks/BigBoreSwede
