For Sale - 1972 Yamaha XS2 650

Hello all, I have a 1972 Yamaha XS650 (XS2) for sale. This Bike was found in 2016, said to have been sitting in a barn since 1977, and completely gone through and restored to driving condition. A good buddy of mine did the restoration and I took over the build in summer of 2016. The carbs were gone through, bottom end cleaned up, pistons resized to .030 over, cylinders done to match. Fork seals, brake lines, new tires, wheels trued. All gauges were working (the tachometer just recently stopped working due to a broken cable), but the mileage is accurate at 20,777. There is 1,105 miles on the rebuild. The paint was done professionally and looks very good, it is a two-tone red and white with silver flake throughout. The seat is in good condition with no rips. The brakes are solid and new when the rebuild was done.

There is a small hole in the main case of the engine (see pictures). It DOES NOT affect the drivability or reliability of the bike. It is a small hole that is directly above where the chain rides to the front sprocket. The carbs could be tuned better, once the bike is hot it tends to idle high. There are no turn signals, no horn, and only one setting for the headlight. Other than that the bike is in great shape and has been sitting for most of the summer of 2019.

This bike has been great to me and never left me stranded, always started right up and never hesitated on longer rides. I only rode it on the nicest of days to cruise around town, though I would never hesitate to take it on a longer trip. I hope to pass it on to another rider that can appreciate that. Only reason I am selling it is that I want to get into a Harley for longer trips.
