1975 34mm triple tree in a 1979 frame ?

I've got an XS650 front drum brake with 34 mm forks coming in the mail, will these work with a 1975 XS 650 triple tree for 34mm forks and a 1979 frame ?

I've seen discussion of similar questions but no definite answers. It sounds like it should work but I'd like to know your opinions on the subject and some ideas to make it work if it doesn't.

Yes, it will work. As long as the forks and trees are both 34 mm. This would be a good time for new steering bearings, too.
