Hey everyone. I recently purchased an Elswick Hardtail(awesome) and came across a 3" rear harley wheel with tire,etc.. my question is, would I be able to run the 3/4" axle in my 20mm plates, "safely"? I know, its a motorcycle and they're not safe to begin with but, has anyone else tried this? what about alignment issues? thanks

- im sure its been done before, even if there is a full mm diameter missing-think about what could happen when cornering ... why dont you look for 20mm bearings and make up a set of 20mm spacers

It's not really the axle it's the spacers and nuts, if they both have plenty of overlap on the sides of the plates so that nothing is tempted to bend into the gap no worries. If it really bothers you weld a bead in the top side of the slot and file it till it's a good fit to the axle.
That is part and parcel of chooper building.
