72 mirror's

I have a pair of mirror's that came on some handlebars I got from a 72 left over buy out. They are factory, as they have the Yamaha logo on them. The funny thing is one is longer than the other. Is this normal, or do I have one that is off of something else. Thanks.

Just off the top of my head. Those look like CS5 mirrors. Also used by the AT1 and older DT bikes.

And yes, you clearly have two different types of mirrors.

So does anyone have a proper mirror they can measure so I can tell which one is correct.

The mirror measuring 8 inches is correct. You will note that it has the pivot in the center of the mirror back. The other mirror is probably a 235 prefix mirror, as Patches pointed out, for the smaller machines of the era. Both mirrors will bring some nice spending money on Ebay as they are scarce!
