Putting the final touches on reassembly of the 77D resto. When the bike showed up I didn't spend much time diagnosing the controls before total disassembly. Now that she's going back together I find there is a lot of "slack" in the riser mounts where they pass thru the top tree. All the parts that came off went back on in correct order AFAIK.
I know the rubber bushes are 30 odd years old and possibly shrunken but they look good and fit snugly in the tree. The shoulder bolt prevents me from any further tightening. I'm considering a shim washer under the bottom bush with an inside diameter greater than the shoulder on the bolt. Is that a cheesy fix? Do I need new rubber bushings? Or am I missing something?
