78/79 XS650 SE Special , Measurement

If you please, anyone with a 78/79 XS650 SE, I would like to know the approx. O/C distance between the rear shock bolt/nut and the mounting hole in the rear frame ear ( turn signal mount bracket/fender bracket hole?

The distance on my 77 is approx. 8 1/4 inches.
