Brake control arm is touching my tire

My tire misses the swing arm by just a hair and it's stock size and a commonly used tire for this bike. Your new tire might not clear better than the present one. And a miss is a good as a mile.

As I said your po might have bent the strut. you can bend it some to get some room. I had to bend the one on the 81 I have. That was a PM nightmare.

Thanks for all the help. I measured the tire as it sits. It is a hair over 26 1/2 inches tall. I have a new Metzler 130/90 16. This tire is (not on rim) 25 inches tall. Hmmm. I'm concerned about putting a new chain on or adjusting the wheel in, as Leo said it was all the way back, and the tire hitting. Guess I'll get the other tire mounted and see what happens. Leo, I ordered a new actuator, rod, and spring. All are busted. Thanks for the help.
