Cam chain adjustor

I noticed that the cam chain adjustor rod was moving out of the slot over 1/4" on a 277 motor. anyone else seen this , could you check don't know much about this motor it was just given to me.
I have never seen this on a stock motor even with a worn out cam chain.

Never mind must have been Hallucinating , recheck today ??

Yes but it is not doing it today, I was tired so probably just seeing things.

I use a piece of paper behind the adjuster so I can see it better. Shadows, low light and background can throw your vision off.
