Hien - I have been banging my head for a lot longer with this situation. I dont get it either.
Paul- Once I pulled the front cam guide I compared it to the new one I bought, they were the same. I ordered from xs650 central, the one I bought is pictured below from the website. This is the only part I replaced, and some gaskets. The tensioner assembly I did not replace, sorry if I used the wrong wordage and stated I did. I also have TYPE E tensioner, with the lock nut, copper washer and acorn nut. I will double check I have it assembled in the correct order as the picture shown below.
Angus - I will check the valves tonight, check the tension take it around the block and then recheck everything, hopefully nothing gets damaged.
5twins & TwoMany- do you have any suggestions of where to get the chain, and which to get? I have seen that the peanut cam chain is cheaper, $39 , (on xs650 central), but is it cheaply made or better than getting a regular chain, $64?
Thanks for all the help guys, seriously. I just want to go ride while the weather is still good.
I have only gone to a mechanic twice for my cars, I would hate to have to start taking my bike because I dont know whats going on.
