Anybody ever thought of using snowmobile mounting flanges on the XS as carb holders. They are a lot cheaper then buying new one's from JBM or anybody else. Dennis kirk seems to range between $9-$16 per mounting flange. THey have a variety of manufacturers including Mikuni.

Maybe next time I'm at DK I'll bring a carb and holder to see if I can find a match.

Do you think it would matter that these might be made for a 2 stroke snowmobile?

Anybody happen to have the dimensions of the flange bolts (center to center) on the xs and the size of the opening of the 34mm and 38mm carbs that would go into the flange?

Check these out. The third one in particular looks promising but might be too big.

Mounting Hole Center Distance: 2 3/4 in. = 70mm
Carb Side Inside Diameter: 1 5/8 in. = 41.275 millimeter
Carb Side Outside Diameter: 1 7/8 in. = 47.625 millimeter - I measured 42mm on mine
Engine Side Inside Diameter: 1 9/16 in. = 39.687 5 millimeter
Height: 1 in.

Not yet. I'll probably just go up there. DK doesn't have all the specs on them up on the site. I grew up with DK's manager so maybe he'll let me just check them all out. Probably bring my carb and a holder up there just to make sure.

I'll try to head up there once I get my bike out of storage. Gas is too spendy to be running around in my jeep everywhere.
