Clutch

Hey guys how do I know if I need to repair or replace the clutch on my XS650? I pinned second gear pretty hard and ever since then I'm starting to get what sounds like a rubbing noise off the start. I'm also feeling like the friction point is happening later now on my clutch lever. Anyone think I have an issue with my gears? Seems doubtful but not sure. Hmmm..... Is it slipping? Hit the throttle hard in fifth gear. If the clutch is worn, that's where it comes loose, especially if climbing a hill. Even then, it could only need an adjustment. I have no experience with the MikesXS kit. The only part of it I've used is that lock washer.
