just got the bike together and trying to get it tuned in.
It kicks over in the first couple of tries. It idles wierd. It rev's up and then stays there for a few sec. checked cable it's good.
got the timing right. then it cuts off. kinda of puffs out of carb.
it'll kick over a few more times. then nothing. wont start. I'll wait awhile then it starts. then same thing.
sprayed carb starter around no leaks.
I do feel a slight blowing from the exhaust at the head.
carbs rebuilt.
new exhaust gaskets.

Beautiful bike. I'd say you're too rich. Stock pilot jet was a 25. You could put that back in and just turn the mixture screws out a bit more.

Is your cam tension and valve clearance correct?

is your seat cut out of an actual horse saddle? looks great on your bike.

Anyways, maybe you shouldn't be trying to start it until your sure the valves are set.
if your valves are too tight when cold, then when engine warms up, the valve wont close all the way, meaning, no compression. when you let it 'sit' for a few minutes, it cools just enuf to seal the valves. and you prolly are too rich.

I'll look in to the valves tomarrow.
it isfrom an old saddle
