Micro Plastics......
Wikpedia..........
Clothing
Studies have shown that many synthetic fibers, such as polyester, nylon, acrylics, and spandex, can be shed from clothing and persist in the environment.[46][47] Each garment in a load of laundry can shed more than 1,900 fibers of microplastics, with fleeces releasing the highest percentage of fibers, over 170% more than other garments.[48][39] For an average wash load of 6 kg, over 700,000 fibres could be released per wash.[49]

Bottom 50% of the population capturted 2% of the globle wealth growth

Next 49% of the population captured 60% of the globle wealth growth

Next 1% of the population captured 38% of the globle wealth growth

That 1% have so much of a wealth imbalance they use that to lobby gov'ts. It is this that is counterproductive to world food production and not the envy of those, whose are using the imbalance to create more of an imbalance............

A shift or disbursement of just 10% of the top 1%'s, (still get 28%) wealth growth, to the bottom 50%, (up to 12%), would do so much for poverty.

It's not envy of those that are sucessfull........just realistic that the wealthiest guy on the planet makes his money from treating his workforce as subhumans then praises them for generating the wealth that allows him to be able to afford to build a space rocket so he can spend a couple on min in weightlessness and call himself an astronaut

Looking at a fellow at the bottom of a deep hole calling help! help! help!
A passerby yells down; first thing you need to do is stop shoveling.
Too many depend on an expanding population to cure their problems and assuage their political supporters.
Just plowed through a book on Cuban history from Columbus up through the Trump era. Good reading and a text book example of the consequences of differing forms of government on the well being of the populace.

treating his workforce as subhumans
sounds political. eh?
Now has the largest delivery organization in the world surpassing USPS UPS and FedEx.
Guess he knows how to breed subhumans to run that fleet?
Haven't heard of a single instance of people being forced to buy from Amazon.
Plenty of things government forces you to do.

An expanding economy is dependent on an expanding population........as much promoted and encouraged by the gov;ts is to have more children.

Hows that.........GDP has to expand for the economy to grow..........that in turn needs more jobs as the market place grows to create the expanding economy.

Wealth is not a zero sum game. Or at least not since the cumumdrum was broken by the industrial revolution in the 1800's
https://fee.org/articles/the-industrial-revolution-working-class-poverty-or-prosperity/
Amazon is the enemy
before Amazon it was Walmart
Before Walmart, K-mart
Before K-mart, Sears
Before Sears, Woolworths was the ruination of small businesses.
Shoe factories broke the boot makers.
I owned a building supply and did well with it, though the local hardware store hated me.
Menards and Home Depot showed up and WAY out classed my one store business, with the economics of scale as well as (I'll admit it) better merchandising. And my, along with nearly all small lumberyards, are gone.
That's progress. Would we be better off if government "outlawed" Walmart or Amazon?
Should government subsidize them to get the tax base? Bet you know my answer for that!

My next read
The Case Against Humane War by Samuel Moyn
Picked it up to read, ABSOLUTELY free at the Local Carnegie library.
Yet another evil industrialist. ;^) He was a ruthless, competitor destroying, capitalist.

PS I donated 20 bux to Wikipedia (again)

sorry but will still stand by the fact we are DOOMED ,,,to many people ,or will be in the near future , we are burning through the earths resourses at a incredible rate , the natural selection processes are being interfered with , this pandamic is a good eg look at the spanish flu and the black death as population controls , people are living way longer than even 200 yrs ago , fresh water for both drinking and agriculture is going to be a major problem as we are depleting our underground aqua tables at a huge rate .. in aust mining its pumping billons of liters from underground to process various ores all sanctioned by the govs here and we are already one of the driest contenents in the world , not a greenie as such just being realistic and glad my generation and the next couple should be ok but the ones after that will be fked and just to be devils advocate with our relanence on electronics just think of what happens if we get a major sun storm / flare as has happened in the past eg early 1900s when the telegraph lines got fried by a solar storm .. stuff it ..have fun . drink and be merry cause our decendents are screwed

Seems like we are headed in the right direction?

sapiens , a brief history of humankind

This book, while about our history, casts a lot of light on our trajectory as does this little video ---

There were a few.... don't remember exactly now... 3 or 4 I think, scientists in the 70's claiming global cooling. When their work was released for peer review, it was quickly shot down as shady/shoddy research. None of it was ever taken seriously after that. Yet that somehow became an argument against global warming. Afraid that logic escapes me.
Oh... and using a doctored Time cover doesn't help your case either. It's a pretty weak argument when people resort to making stuff up. Here's the real cover from Time....
EDIT: I'd put up a pic of the real April 8th cover... but Time didn't have a magazine on April 8th. There's one on the 4th and one on the 11th.... but none on the 8th.
