Endless Cam Chain

Hi all,

As ever, apologies if this has already been asked. I can't seem to fine the answer.
I've stripped down the top end of my engine to replace the cam chain. The only cam chains available from my supplier were endless. I've now got an endless cam chain and a rivet link which they also sell. Both are DID brand. I just wanted to check, can I remove any single link from the endless chain and replace it with the rivet link? Also, is there any particular technique to removing a link other than just grinding off the end of the pins?

On the endless chains, yes, just remove any link, in the manner you described. I grind them very flush like so .....

..... then tap the link out using a small punch on the ground down pin ends. They usually pop right out.
