Finding TDC

I lined up my PMA mark, both the intake and exhaust rockers arent touching valves, piston appears to be at the top, but my right side cam dowel pin hole is 6 o clock. I believe this is supposed to be at 12 o clock from another post I read.

Am I ok, or is something not adding up?

Since both rockers are loose shouldn't this be compression stroke?

I assume you're looking at the left cylinder? You're OK. The locating pin hole on the right end of the cam is in line with the notch on the cam chain sprocket. When you point them both up, that puts the right cylinder at TDC on it's compression stroke. The left cylinder will be just finishing it's exhaust stroke and starting on it's intake stroke. Left cylinder you are correct.

One more thing to check off the list, probably a carb issue.

On the threads referencing that pin most say it point straight up or straight down.
